Ger van Langen retires as director Wagenborg Passagiersdiensten after 26 years

3 September 2024

After an impressive career spanning a period of more than 26 years, Ger van Langen resigned as director of Wagenborg Passagiersdiensten at the beginning of this month. Ger van Langen started his career at Wagenborg in 1997 and has since become a well-known and trusted face on both Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. His involvement and dedication made him a true islander, who always had an eye for the needs of the island communities.

Under his leadership, Wagenborg has been committed to providing reliable and safe connections to the Wadden Islands, with Ger van Langen always keeping a keen eye on both the technical and human side of the operation. He will stay on as advisor to the Board of Directors until the summer of 2026 to guide the transition to a new concession.

Jieskje Hollander, who previously worked as regional director at Arriva, will succeed him as director. Ger van Langen will continue his involvement with the islands in a more informal role, while enjoying his well-deserved retirement.
