Reservations for the new timetable now available and updated General Terms and Conditions as of 2026

24 November 2025

In 2026 we will operate according to a timetable that offers calm and predictability. At the same time, we are making our reservation process clearer with updated General Terms and Conditions. Both adjustments reflect a year in which we introduce a new fast ferry, improve the wider transport chain and present our service offering with even more clarity.

Timetable Ameland – Holwert v.v.
For the ferry service, nothing changes in next year’s basic timetable. We will keep the same times as in 2025. Where needed, we schedule additional sailings. These will be published in advance in the up-to-date overview on our website.

During busy periods such as holidays, events and weekends, we operate the second vessel. Depending on the tide, it can depart from Ameland up to five times a day. We plan this a year ahead so travellers can prepare their trip in good time.

We also assess weekly whether extra sailings are needed in addition to the planned service and the second vessel. We publish these no later than 48 hours in advance and share them with our stakeholders. This keeps everyone well informed.

For the fast ferry, things will change. In 2026 we will introduce a new vessel with significantly more capacity. This requires more time for check-in and boarding, making a 30-minute frequency no longer realistic. Fast ferry sailings will therefore depart at intervals of at least 40 minutes. In setting the new times, we considered the needs of commuters, students and islanders who depend on the late sailing.

Timetable Lauwersoog – Schiermonnikoog v.v.
On this route we are implementing two adjustments. Departures from Schiermonnikoog will shift 15 minutes later because the current loading and unloading time is too tight during peak moments. We also expect the new access gates to require a bit more time. Departures from Lauwersoog will move 5 minutes later to maintain the connection with bus services.

The first sailings at 06.30 from Lauwersoog and 07.30 from Schiermonnikoog remain unchanged, in consultation with the Schiermonnikoog Customer Panel. When demand increases, we plan additional sailings, which we communicate at least 72 hours in advance.

The fast ferry timetable on this route remains the same as in 2025.
